Old Scholars Take the Baton at Generations in Jazz
As music educators, part of our job is to instil in our students a genuine passion for music which can be handed down through the generations, hence the name Generations in Jazz.
This was on display in abundance at Generations In Jazz, not only through our current students, but also through two of our Old Scholar musicians.
This year it was wonderful to see ex- Enchante members, Olivia Nortkus (Head Chorister, Selwyn 2008) and Stephanie Neale (Head Chorister and Music Captain, Patteson 2010) directing their own ensembles at Generations In Jazz.
Olivia’s Small Vocal Ensemble placed 2nd in Division 2, while Stephanie’s Stage Band placed 1st in Division 4.2, with her students winning positions in the Superband for Trumpet 1, Tenor 1 and Drums.
We are incredibly proud of Olivia and Stephanie’s achievements, and the love of Music that they continue to hand down through the generations.
