BASKETBALL
Senior B: Saints (66) vs Walford (20)
The girls had a dominant game against Walford, winning 66-20! The girls were disciplined in the game plan and supported each other well, even when playing in different positions. During transition, the girls knew to look ahead knowing they would find a teammate for an extra pass. The girls should be very proud of their game this week!
Best Players: Charlotte Dodd and Addy Rice.
Senior C: Saints (32) vs Immanuel (46)
The girls had a great game against a tough Immanuel team. Although we lost, the confidence shown by the whole team was the best part of the game. Each player showed skills in a game situation that we had been practising at training which was so pleasing to see. The standout from tonight was that each player scored, and all of the girls were encouraging and happy for each other’s success.
Best Player: Immy was all over the court, hustling in defence and rebounded so well. She also came up with some big baskets when we needed them.
Superwoman: Hannah has shown so much improvement since the start of the season and scored 3 baskets. The confidence with her dribbling and shooting was so good to see!
Middle C Blue: Saints (24) vs Concordia (22)
Best Players: The entire team.
Superwoman: Nishka had an unbelievable performance, we managed to snag 2 steals and the win with 2 baskets in the last 30 seconds. Nishka stands out to me as the superwoman due to her consistent effort and listening skills. Anything I asked of Nishka, she tried and did almost instantly. The type of player any coach would be thankful to have.
Middle C White: Saints (4) vs Concordia (36)
Best Players: Jessie, Joshitaa and Lisa.
Superwoman: Jessie earned her Superwoman status tonight. In a very tough game with only 1 sub, Jessie continued to help Joshitaa with rebounds and defence the entire game. It should be noted that Joshitaas’ efforts every single game are truly impressive, and our team is very thankful to have her.

Superwoman: Nicole cheered super loudly for her teammates and remained positive throughout the entire match.
Year 5/6 Blue: Saints (78/6) vs Pembroke (90/4)
Best Player: Timethma had an excellent game today! She was enthusiastic on the field and did some excellent batting and bowling. I was particularly impressed with her excellent decision-making skills when choosing whether or not to run whilst batting.
Superwoman: Chloe is our superwoman for this match as she showed great sportsmanship by wishing good luck to the other team and congratulating them on their win.
TENNIS

The girls put in an amazing effort this week. Might not have got as many games as we wanted, however, a good learning experience especially playing in the heat. A great effort!

The girls had a tough afternoon against a really strong Seymour outfit. The effort was there from each player, however, the skill level from Seymour was too much to overcome today.

Best Players: Olivia Clarke, Ishana Roy and Jerrie Wu.
Senior Div 4.1: Saints (3/22) vs Wilderness (6/36)

“Fortune favours the bold,” and the girls embodied that spirit today with a fantastic performance, particularly in their serving. They’ve been given the formula to maximise their potential, and they are executing it well. While there were still a few moments of confusion, that will naturally improve with time and continued practice within the rotation. Every player has a role, and the team is beginning to understand and embrace that. Some of the girls were understandably fatigued from camp, but the energy and enthusiasm brought by the Year 9s were matched by the Year 8s, creating a strong team dynamic.
Best Player: Chloe Sturt once again delivered a standout performance at the net, applying relentless pressure. At times, it may have been overwhelming for the opposition, but this only highlights the need for the coaches to push the team further in their attacking game. Defensively, the girls have developed a solid foundation and are positioning themselves well.
Middle B: Saints (1/55) vs Immanuel (2/58)
Too little, too late. The girls were noticeably fatigued from camp, which impacted their performance. We started each set slowly but gradually worked our way into the game. This was the first match that truly tested the team in extended back-and-forth rallies, and we struggled to keep up. Our serving today lacked its usual impact, and we were unable to go on the serving runs that typically help us navigate tough situations. This was largely due to rushed serves and a general lack of energy. Moving forward, we will focus on positioning in serve reception and improving our ability to get the ball up as a unit. At the end of the match, we emphasised the importance of desire, passion, and communication, even in moments of exhaustion. We hope to see more of that mentality in the games ahead.
Best Player: A standout performance came from Jessica, whose determination and hunger for the ball were unmatched. She served consistently well throughout the game and set a great example for the team.

Year 5/6 Blue: Saints (1) vs Wilderness (0)
Best Player: Chloe Lin
Middle A: Saints (9) vs Pembroke (1)
The Middle As had a great win today with Julia Yang, Mila Zappa, Millie Lively and Tiana Trench scoring. It was a great team effort with some great passages of play. Scarlett was really effective in her line defence with Millie, Evie, Julia, Lucinda and Janika keeping defence tight through the middle. Well done to everyone.
Best Players: Julia Yang and Mila Zappia.
Senior A: Saints (1) vs Marryatville (1)
Best Player: India Goodall
Senior B: Saints (5) vs Saint Ignatius (3)
The girls started reasonably slow in the first half, lots of errors in passing and catching and were caught flat-footed a lot in attack. After addressing these at half time, the effort and skill improvement in the second half was incredible. They took the game at pace and picked holes in the defence. Proud of everyone’s effort today.
Best Player: Imogen Pearce
ROWING
2025 School Premiership Series #4 Regatta
Saturday 1 March was last of the School Premiership Series Regattas for the season, and the last chance therefore for our crews to improve on their seeding points for Head of the River with strong results. crews performed strongly, with all crews having now qualified for the A Final of their division at Head of the River in Week 7!
Despite our Year 8s returning tired from the Year 8 Camp, they produced their strongest performances of the season yet, placing 3rd, 2nd, 1st, and 4th in their respective divisions. Although we had to scratch one crew due to illness, the girls showed immense grit to produce these performances after a week of camp. The Year 9 crews also achieved some of their strongest performances this season, which included the 9Ds winning their race despite breaking an oar mid-race!
The 10B crew continued their string of strong results, cruising to wins in both their Heat and Final. Whereas the 10A crew had a less fortunate day – breaking an oar in their heat relegated them to the B Final. Thanks are owed to Jemima Vikor-Lam and Cleo Connor who both filled in and raced in two crews on the weekend – Jemima in the 9B and 10B crews, whilst Cleo rowed in the 10B and 1st 4+. A huge effort from both!
Our 1st 8+ continued to improve in the heat, once again securing progression to the A Final, but were also struck with misfortune in the A Final, catching a ‘crab’ that put paid to their chances. The 1st 4+ meanwhile produced a sensational final, finishing 4th narrowly behind Seymour in 3rd.
The 2025 SA Schools’ Head of the River is on Saturday 15 March (Week 7) – we hope we can look forward to seeing the Saints Girls community out in number to support our students!

Caitlyn Smashes SA Badminton Championships
Congratulations to Caitlyn Ling who recently competed in the South Australian U15 and U19 Badminton Championships. Caitlyn had a tiring but successful weekend. She and her Mixed Doubles partner successfully defended their U-15 Mixed Doubles title from last year. She also won the Under 15 Girls Doubles Championships this year.
Caitlyn was given the opportunity to play in the U-19 Mixed Doubles, with one of the top-ranked Under 19 boys from Victoria, to see how she would handle the increased pace and power of the game. They reached the final, beating the number 1 seeds in 3 close sets. Unfortunately, they lost the final to the number 2 seeds, but she held her own against some of the top 17 and 18-year-old players. Congratulations, Caitlyn, on these fantastic results!
