Year 6 Leaders’ Induction Service

Each Year 6 student being assigned a leadership role creates valuable opportunities for personal growth and character development during their final year of Junior School. By entrusting students with specific responsibilities, whether in sports, arts, technology or peer support, they develop essential leadership qualities such as initiative, empathy, and effective communication. The program helps students understand that leadership isn’t about holding a title or wearing a badge, but rather about setting positive examples, supporting others, and contributing meaningfully to the School community. Through these roles, students learn to manage tasks, work collaboratively, and develop resilience when facing challenges. Most importantly, this inclusive approach to leadership demonstrates to every student that they have the capacity to lead and make a difference, regardless of their previous experiences. The confidence and skills gained through this program provide a strong foundation as students transition into Middle School, having experienced firsthand that leadership is about actions and influence rather than position or authority.
