Music Day Camp – A Huge Success!
Over 350 girls from Year 2 to 12 enjoyed celebrating World Music Day on Monday, participating in Music Day Camp. This Camp offers students a chance for all to connect, celebrate and perform music together.
Music Day Camp is certainly a day many will remember as they move forward in their music journeys, not only as a day for music, but for bonding with all ages. It is full of excitement, joy, and a little bit of chaos, which works in harmony to uplift the musical generation of St Peter’s Girls’ School.

Music Day Camp is a great way for the music students to connect with each other as we enjoy some additional rehearsal time. It also allows the Junior School students an opportunity to see other girls perform during the “sharing” at the end of the day. We also join for the Big Sing and Play which combines all 350 students to create great music! Overall, it is such a fun day!

Participating in the Music Day Camp was a highly rewarding and enjoyable experience for all of us. A major highlight was listening to all the talented strings students in the impressive Strings Concert, followed by a combined performance where the Middle and Senior School orchestras, a mass group of 110 musicians, played Golden by K-Pop Demon Hunters.

Music Day Camp was an amazing experience, and it was so rewarding to see the younger girls engage with the day, having fun, and making the most of every opportunity. Having taken part in Music Day Camp each year, it’s always such a fun and memorable experience, and this year was no exception!

Year 12 SACE Drama Production: The Domino Effect
On Wednesday and Thursday of Week 9, the Year 12 SACE Drama students presented Finn Kennedy’s play ’The Domino Effect,’ which explores the idea of cause and effect, and that the consequences of our actions are vast.
The ensemble form of the play meant that all of the actors needed to work fluidly together to create the seamless transitions and interconnected movement of the work.
Every student stepped up, performing confidently and expressively to a captivated audience. I am very proud of their achievements. A huge thank you to Scott Lorien for his creative skills – the lighting, sound and visual effects were spectacular. Thank you also to Neil Fuller for the set construction, and to all the supportive staff behind the scenes who ensured the production was a success.

Outstanding Success at the Ballarat Eisteddfod
We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Mathea Zhong, who recently competed in the 2026 Ballarat Eisteddfod, presented by the Royal South Street Society, one of Australia’s most respected and long-standing performing arts competitions.
Mathea achieved an exceptional result, winning First Prize in the prestigious 19 Years and Under Piano Recital Category. This accomplishment is particularly impressive given the high calibre of the competition, which attracted many accomplished pianists from Melbourne, several of whom were considerably older and more experienced.
As the youngest competitor in the category, Mathea demonstrated remarkable musical maturity, artistry, and confidence throughout her performance, earning the highest recognition from the adjudicator.
This outstanding result is a testament to Mathea’s dedication, perseverance, and passion for music. It also reflects the invaluable support of her family, teachers, and the wider school community, who have encouraged and nurtured her musical growth.
We congratulate Mathea on this wonderful achievement and look forward to following her continued success as a young musician.
