A Night to Remember at FUSICAL
This year’s FUSICAL was a wonderful celebration of creativity, collaboration, and the incredible talents of our Performing Arts students. Featuring song and dance items from five fantastic musicals: Beetlejuice, Hairspray, Wicked, Mean Girls, and SIX , the evening showcased the passion, energy, and dedication of students from Years 7 to 12.
With over 80 students involved, FUSICAL was a true fusion of skills and talents, providing many students with the opportunity to shine on stage while building confidence, friendships, and performance skills. Throughout the rehearsal process, the ensemble demonstrated outstanding support and encouragement for one another, led by our fantastic Performing Arts Captains, Sophie Blight, Lily Trowse, and Eve Riley-Male.
Audiences enjoyed a vibrant showcase of diverse musical theatre styles, choreography, and characters, highlighting the incredible commitment and creativity of our students.
A huge thank you to the creative team, Katherine Kitching, Matthew Houston, Alex McKay and Tilly McCormack who helped bring this vision to life and creating an event to remember. As always, Scott and Ella lifted the show to new heights with outstanding technical additions.
A special congratulations to Aurelia Pyne, who played the character of Beetlejuice, adding her own flair and eccentricity. Such a challenging role to embody, Aurelia’s performance was truly outstanding!
Congratulations to all students involved! Your talent, teamwork, and dedication made FUSICAL a huge success.

A Celebration of Piano Excellence
For many musicians, performance is the most rewarding part of the journey. Sharing music that has been refined over weeks of dedicated practice, responding to the guidance of teachers and tutors, and balancing countless commitments all become worthwhile when the hard work culminates in a memorable performance.
This was certainly the case for our talented pianists, who took to the stage at the annual St Peter’s Girls’ School Piano Recital Evening last week. Held in the beautiful Emily Centre Theatrette, the event featured 20 of our outstanding pianists from Reception to Year 9, each performing on our magnificent grand piano for an appreciative audience of family and friends.
Guests were also treated to a special performance by acclaimed pianist Esmond Choi, who presented the Australian premiere of a contemporary work, providing an inspiring highlight to the evening.
Adding to the celebrations, Year 11 student Samantha Li presented her first assessment performance for her SACE Music Solo Performance subject, demonstrating both confidence and artistry.
The evening was a wonderful celebration of piano performance and the dedication, passion and musical growth of our students.
Congratulations to all performers and teachers involved in making the event such a success.

Year 9 Shines with Bollywood Dance

Throughout this term, our Year 9 dancers have been working with guest artist Mudrua Trivedi to learn the skills of Bollywood dance. Combining the workshop choreography with a study of the history and evolution of this highly popular modern Indian dance style has enabled students to understand the cultural background of the style while enjoying the exciting, energetic movements, the importance of facial expression, and the element of fun!
The girls are looking forward to sharing their new skills in a class routine involving 32 students next Thursday at VIVID – the Year 9 Arts Collab 2026.
