Reception Christmas Assembly

It was an absolute joy to share our Reception Christmas Assembly last Friday morning! The girls delighted everyone in telling the story ‘The Mouse in Santa’s House’. We have been delving into the story over the term as part of our literacy and thinking about the important aspects of expression, characterisation, timing and vocalisation.

This delightful tale tells of two little girls who are dreaming of their very own pet mouse for Christmas. Meanwhile, at Santa’s workshop, the elves are busy preparing the night before Christmas. As they pack presents onto the sleigh, Top the mouse, climbs aboard looking for a cosy place to nap. On Christmas morning, he is found by the girls. But will he be able to stay?

Through this experience, the girls have developed confidence as they delivered their lines and courage as they performed on stage. We would like to extend our thanks to all our families who supported their daughters to learn their lines with such confidence and for sharing this special experience with us. What a beautiful way to celebrate the start of the Christmas season together!

Years 1 to 2 Nativity Performance: The Fleece Force Takes Bethlehem by Storm!

This year’s Nativity performance, The Fleece Force, brought a fresh and fun twist to the classic Christmas story. The show introduced us to an elite team of sheep, known as The Fleece Force, who were tasked with ensuring that only those attending the census were allowed into the busy town of Bethlehem. While this might sound simple enough, the arrival of shepherds, kings, angels, and other Nativity characters made the job much more challenging for the team of woolly officers.

The girls did an outstanding job of portraying these lovable and determined sheep, along with the other iconic Nativity characters, adding humour and heart to the story, while performing catchy songs and clever choreography. Their confidence, enthusiasm, and joyful energy truly lit up the stage, leaving the audience with big smiles and warmth in their hearts.

A huge thank you to Sally Rounsevell, Kendall Latzel, Scott Lorien, and Ella Anderson for their invaluable support in bringing this creative performance to life. Their dedication and expertise were instrumental in making the show a success and ensuring it sparkled with Christmas cheer.

We are incredibly proud of all the girls for their hard work, creativity, and spirit. The Fleece Force truly captured the essence of Christmas—community, kindness, and joy—and was a delightful reminder of the importance of coming together to celebrate this special time of year.

Year 5 Camp

Our Year 5 girls had a wonderful time on their camp to the Grampians. Not only were they fully immersed in nature and surrounded by spectacular mountains and wildlife, but they also spent the week totally unplugged from any electronic devices! This gave the girls an opportunity to appreciate this spectacular environment and to spend quality time with their classmates and teachers.

Highlights were hiking in the mountains, visiting the Halls Gap Zoo and a day trip to Sovereign Hill as well as the Eureka Stockade site to enhance their inquiry into the Gold Rush and its challenges and consequences.

It was a wonderful four days for the girls and their teachers. We made memories that will last a lifetime.

Year 3 Camp

The Year 3 girls spent an adventurous three days in Victor Harbor staying at beautiful Adare House. The focus of the camp was on teamwork, personal challenge and friendship. There were smiles for miles as we enjoyed a ride on the horse drawn cart across the Granite Island causeway, an exhilarating boat trip through the waves to see dolphins frolicking and seals and twilight mini golf. Working in tribes, the girls also competed in Survivor-style challenges and beach games, testing their resilience, collaboration and problem-solving. As teachers, we were so proud of the kindness, maturity and sense of fun that the girls showed. We all returned from camp happy, more independent, and full of wonderful memories and new friendships.
