FROM OUR HEAD OF SENIOR SCHOOL

As we celebrate today’s much-anticipated Halfway Day, it seems fitting to take a moment to reflect on the journey our Year 12 students have embarked upon so far this year and the energy they’ve brought to our School community.

This Friday marks a significant milestone for our Year 12 students; they’ve officially reached the halfway point of their final year. To commemorate this achievement, our Year 12s will be celebrating with a special themed, “one last kids party” – a fun concept that promises to bring back cherished childhood memories. It’s wonderful to see these soon-to-be graduates taking a moment to embrace their inner child and relive those carefree childhood moments.

In addition to celebrating reaching the halfway point of the final year of schooling, the class of 2025 have also been actively involved in leadership initiatives and School events this year.

What has particularly impressed me is how the Prefect led activities have fostered an extraordinary sense of camaraderie among not just the Year 12 students, but across all year levels. The leadership our Senior students have demonstrated has been nothing short of inspiring.

The Ponytail Project Initiative engaged not only the Year 12 cohort but also students from across the entire Senior School. Likewise, the Big Freeze event showcased the outstanding leadership of our Year 12s, whose efforts to unite the School community, to attend, participate, and donate, were truly commendable. These initiatives demonstrated not only their strong organisational skills but also their genuine commitment to creating a positive impact. Additional initiatives like Sister Chats and ‘Cups of Coffee’ in the chapel at lunchtime further reflect the Year 12s’ dedication to supporting the wider School community. This high level of involvement highlights the inclusive leadership our Senior students have embraced and the positive culture they continue to foster within the School.

As we look ahead, I’m filled with both excitement and a touch of sadness as we prepare for what will be the final semester for our Year 12s. These remarkable young women have contributed so much to our School community through their leadership, their creativity, their dedication, and their unwavering School spirit. They’ve set a wonderful example for the younger students and have left an indelible mark on our School culture.

To our Year 12 students: enjoy every moment of your Halfway Day celebration. You’ve earned this milestone, and we’re incredibly proud of everything you’ve accomplished.
