Benedicte showed her speed around court and used her smarts to get the ball in close shooting range. She also worked well with Isla, with many goalie to goalie passes helping us to score regularly. I loved seeing her high-5 and support her teammates on court too. Mackenzie worked tirelessly in defence, combining well with Alva in the circle to create many turnover opportunities. Mackenzie showed great one-on-one defence, which was a key focus for us at training. Great job Mackenzie! Sia and Nina both played in defence and were a force to be reckoned with! They stuck tight to their players and used their turn and block in the circle to dominate the rebounds. Well done girls!

Rishita was such a strong player this week and made Immanuel work extra hard to get the ball into their circle. She kept a close eye on the ball and was able to get intercept after intercept. The whole team was so impressed with your efforts. Lauren and Zara remained super focused throughout the game and cheered their teammates on loudly from the sidelines and supported each other through the tight game. Their skills are getting stronger each week. Special shoutout also to Grace Davies and Maria Elovaris for stepping up and playing centre due to missing players! Great work on a really well-played game! The team persisted throughout the entire duration of the game and didn’t give up, hence the final result. The ball moved smoothly down the court, which goes to show they are implementing plays from training.
Year 10B: Saints (36) vs Immanuel (45)
Best Players: Abbie Tulloch, Sylvie Flavel and Olivia Clarke
Well done girls, another strong game today. I’m proud of the way we continue to improve each week, and it’s starting to show more on court. Don’t take today’s result negatively, as there were still so many positives to take away. In the 3rd quarter alone, we scored 14 goals while they scored 12, which shows what we are capable of when we stay composed, apply feedback during the game, and back ourselves. I also love how open minded and coachable you all are, because that mindset is what allows us to keep improving every week. On Tuesday, we’ll continue building on this by focusing further on our defensive pressure and goal conversion.
Year 10C: Saints (8) vs Westminster (42)
Best Players: Chloe Sturt, Maddie Davidson, Lucinda Macintosh, Aoife Carty and Gracie Cheung
Superwoman: Lois Burton-Howard. Shout out to Lois Burton-Howard for coming out and supporting the team from the sidelines. Your positivity and encouragement lifted the team and helped keep spirits high throughout the entire game. Tough match, but the team showed fantastic resilience and determination right until the final whistle. With several players stepping into unfamiliar positions and everyone being flexible while also playing out a full game, the team displayed a true team-first attitude. There were some really positive passages of play and strong drives down the court that we’ll look to continue building on at training this week.

Year 5/6 Silver: Saints (7) vs Scotch (11)
Best Player: Ella Nelson
Superwoman: Georgia Cirillo
Ella was outstanding on the field, showing great confidence and determination while scoring an impressive 6 goals for her team. Georgia was the team’s superwoman, giving endless effort, supporting her teammates all over the field, and never giving up from start to finish. Although we came second this week, it was by far the girls’ best match so far. Well done to everyone for playing excellent soccer, showing great teamwork, determination, and effort right until the final whistle.
Middle A: Saints (0) vs Concordia (8)
Best Player – Abby Lin
Superwoman – Isabella Grenfell
Premier League: Saints (1) vs Scotch (5)
Milla was outstanding down the wing, making dangerous attacking runs, pressing with great energy, and confidently taking players on in 1v1 situations. Her work rate and determination created plenty of positive moments for the team. Elena earns this week’s award for scoring our first goal of the season. She showed great composure in front of goal and finished calmly under pressure. The PL girls faced a strong Scotch side in a tough Tuesday evening clash. Saints started brightly, scoring early and dominating much of the opening 15 minutes with confident play and high intensity. Scotch responded well, capitalising on a couple of counterattacks and long balls over the top to take a 2–1 lead into halftime. To the girls’ credit, they continued to press hard and bravely attempted to play out from the back throughout the match. Saints then went down to ten players, and Scotch took advantage of the extra space to add several classy goals in the second half. Despite the result, the girls continued to fight hard and play bravely until the final whistle, showing resilience and character against quality opposition.
