An Evening of Music: 2026 Piano Recital
Families and friends are warmly invited to attend the 2026 Piano Recital on Thursday 11 June at 6pm in the Emily Centre Theatrette.
We are excited to showcase the fantastic work of student representatives from Reception to Year 9, who will perform pieces based on their recent performances in the Piano Eisteddfod. Students who demonstrate wonderful musicianship and confidence at the Thursday 4 June Eisteddfod will be offered a place in the recital, with families notified via email by Friday 5 June if their daughter has been selected to perform.
The evening will also feature a special performance from Samantha Li, Year 11, as part of her SACE Stage 2 Solo Performance studies.
Guests will also enjoy a presentation from guest pianist Esmond Choi, whom we are delighted to welcome to the evening.
We look forward to sharing this wonderful celebration of music and performance with our community.
Meet Esmond Choi
Australian pianist and composer Esmond Choi is an MPhil student studying under Lucinda Collins. Under the supervision of Stephen Whittington and Konstantin Shamray, Esmond conducted research on Charles Ives’s First Piano Sonata, which led to intensive studies with Stephen Drury in Boston. Choi’s premiere of George Crumb’s Metamorphoses earned acclaim from Limelight and The Barefoot Review.
Recent highlights include working with Olli Mustonen and performing at the 2024 She Speaks Festival. Through his series, “The Adventurous Project”, Choi promotes rare 20th-century works, recently debuting Austin Engelhardt’s graphic scores. He will soon return to Boston for an intensive workshop with Marti Epstein.
Save the Date: Year 12 Production – The Domino Effect
The Stage 2 Drama class of 2026 is excited to present their major theatrical production, ’The Domino Effect’ by Fin Kennedy.
The play explores the interconnectedness of the world around us, where characters, objects and events create unlimited sequences of cause and effect. Amina, a young girl who chooses to withdraw from the harshness of society, creates a magical world of imagination and fantasy to shield herself from reality.
The production will be staged on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 18 of June at 7pm, with a special matinee performance on Thursday at 2pm, in the Jefferys Linn Arts Centre. Seating is general admission and there is no cost to attend.
We would love to see our community there to support the students in their assessment. Please save the date for this magical, heartwarming piece of theatre, which we hope will stay with you long after the curtain falls.
