Putting Our Best Foot Forward
This week the Director of The Athlete’s Foot Burnside, Byron Davis, presented 2025 Prefects Mollie Kennett (Head Prefect) and Charlotte McAuliffe (Sports Prefect) with a cheque for $1710 for the School. We warmly thank Byron for his ongoing support.
Another worthy initiative is the sports shoe recycling program. When buying your new sports shoes, take the old ones back to Athletes Food for recycling – these are used to manufacture new products such as gym mats, floors and playgrounds. Click here for information on how to participate in this program.
All members of our community are invited to support The Athlete’s Foot Burnside with this ongoing promotion. When purchasing shoes in store, please let the staff know that you are from St Peter’s Girls and $5 from every pair of shoes purchased will be donated back to the School. Premier’s Reading Challenge
Premier’s Reading Challenge is an opportunity for all students to engage in regular reading and begin to develop a life-long pattern of reading for pleasure. With the digital age so strongly impacting the younger generations, books are often overlooked which research shows is having a detrimental impact on students’ abilities to spell, interpret different types of text, see varied writing styles and be inspired by the creativity of authors.
Our School had another successful year with the challenge. The Junior School has maintained a 100% success rate this year. Although numbers were down in the Middle and Senior years, some amazing commitments to the challenge were evident. Four students, in particular, are to be congratulated for completing 14 years of continuous participation. Congratulations goes to Alice Braitwaite, Daisy Braithwaite, Amy Dillon and Ashlyn May.
All medals and certificates will be distributed shortly though Home Classes.
