Performing Arts Teachers to Lead Curriculum Transformations
As part of the Subject Renewal Process, SACE called for applications for Subject Renewal Groups—small teams of teachers dedicated to leading subject-specific curriculum transformations. The goal of subject renewal is to craft a curriculum that empowers students to demonstrate agency, metacognition, and deep authentic learning across all subjects.
Out of over 700 applicants from various subject areas, we are thrilled to announce that Kate Burnett and Katherine Kitching have been selected to represent our students, teachers, and School community in the Dance and Drama Subject Renewal Groups. Their involvement ensures our students will be at the forefront of curriculum innovations—piloting new content and assessments while providing crucial feedback on their learning experiences.
We are excited to engage in this dynamic process, which puts our students at the heart of the planning, trialling, and implementation of an enriched curriculum tailored to their educational journey.
Out of the Blue Journal – Deadline Extended for Submissions
We have extended the deadline for submissions for the Out of the Blue Arts Journal. The Journal celebrates our School community’s talented artists and is produced entirely by the student committee! The pages contain beautiful paintings, deep and compelling poems, inspiring music and countless other creative endeavours.
We are looking for students from Reception to Year 12, Old Scholars, and staff to submit art for a chance to be featured in this year’s Journal. There are no limits to the type of art allowed, as long as it is an original work.
To enter your artwork, you can place a physical copy in the submission boxes in either the Junior School classrooms or the ones located around the Middle School, or you can email a digital copy to outoftheblue@stpetersgirls.sa.edu.au. For all submissions, please fill out and attach this submission form. Entries now close on Friday 27 September (end of Term 3) so get your artwork in!
This year marks the fifth anniversary of the Out of the Blue Arts Journal, which coincides with the School’s 130th anniversary, so we hope to see submissions to make this special edition a standout! At Saints Girls, we value the importance of art and creativity, and we hope that through this project, we can continue to share the talent and voices of our community for years to come.
Further details can be found on the submission form, but do not hesitate to email Rebecca Riley, Alex McKay, or the OOTB Committee with any questions.
