The Arts is a pivotal and celebrated domain at St Peter’s Girls. Our programs inspire individuality and fearlessness in creative expression. Whether lighting up the stage or making a canvas come to life, our students are given the best foundations, resources, and guidance to explore and master their craft.
This term, our performing arts concerts have taken centre stage in the Junior School. I’ve found myself toe-tapping, swaying in my seat, and marvelling at the exceptional talents of our students. Our Reception and Year 1 Dance Concert, Years 4, 5 and 6 Dance Concert and Years 2, 3 and 4 Music Concert beautifully showcased the depth of skill and creativity our students have developed through our dance and music programs.
From graceful dance and contemporary routines to an impressive range of musical styles featuring strings, band instruments and the recorder, our girls have brought energy and excitement to the stage with their dynamic performances. They have also demonstrated their ability to work effectively in teams and perform with growing confidence. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated music and dance teachers for the outstanding opportunities they are providing.
Rehearsals are in full swing for our Year 5 Musical, Anastasia. With performances only days away, our students are working tirelessly to perfect their lines, songs, and dance routines. We congratulate our Year 5 girls on their remarkable commitment and progress. The costumes are also breathtaking, with exquisite designs that transport us to early 20th century Russia. A big thank you to our talented costume team, led by Kaye Langley, and to our technical production team, led by Scott Lorien, who brings the stage to life with lighting and sound. We warmly thank the many parents who have supported with costumes and props.
Our dedicated Junior School Teachers – Shelley Hampton, Shane Davidson, Jodie Heath and Sarah Mulraney have brilliantly directed and coordinated all aspects of the show. They’ve inspired our girls and worked collaboratively with our fabulous music teachers and teams across the School to bring this ambitious production to life – bravo and thank you!
The Musical is a highlight of our Junior School calendar and another great showcase of the Arts at our School. We are incredibly proud of our talented Junior School students and look forward to seeing you at our next fabulous performing arts show, Anastasia!
