During 2024 we acknowledged our 130th anniversary with several activities and events. Our students received 130th anniversary branded ribbons and 130th anniversary badges were given to students and staff. Every student from Reception to Year 12 enjoyed 130th cupcakes at a special assembly, creating a sense of togetherness and celebration across the School. A standout event was our Hear Me Roar Concert, commemorating 130 years of girls’ education with the incredible musical talents of our current students and our Old Scholars. The final event was the 130 Celebration, where our community gathered at Adelaide Oval for a memorable evening of fun, laughter and good company.  The deep connections and strong sense of belonging was felt by all at this amazing community event.

Alongside the celebrations of our 130th anniversary, we are also witnessing another exciting chapter in our School’s story: the commencement of the North West Build project. This state-of-the-art facility promises to transform our learning, sports and performing arts spaces, providing our students with even greater opportunities to thrive. It’s been exciting to see this project take shape, and we look forward to watching its continued development over the next twelve months, with the ‘moving in’ date anticipated to be the start of the school year in 2026.

Our staff, teaching and non-teaching, are courageous, creative and compassionate, and take great pride in our School being the best it can be. I would like to take a moment to acknowledge and thank the staff members who will be leaving us at the end of the term. Whether you are retiring or moving on to new opportunities, your presence and dedication have made a lasting impact on our community. We are truly grateful for the time and energy you have given, and we wish you all the best in the next chapter of your journey. I would especially like to thank three staff members who have contributed to the life of Saints Girls for more than 20 years: Anne Daniell (34 years), Liz Sandercock (24 years) and Anna Stefopoulos (24 years). We thank them for the many years of outstanding service to our students and community.

It was a pleasure to come together as a community earlier this week to celebrate the festive season at our annual Carols in the Cathedral event. The beautiful music and stunning vocals from our students were nothing short of magical, and I was transported into the warmth and joy of the holiday season. As we prepare for the end of term, I look forward to tonight’s Presentation Night, where we will celebrate the achievements of our students and mark the conclusion of a remarkable year.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May your holidays be filled with peace, joy, and the company of loved ones. I look forward to welcoming you back in 2025.
