An awesome game to finish off our season! The team brought so much energy to the court. I’m so proud of everyone for their flexibility in playing different positions. Shout out to Lucinda, who played a full game down at goals, switching from her usual position of defence. Thank you also to Evie Murphy for playing in our team this week, your drives and positioning down the court were super! An outstanding win to finish off our season together, with great improvement shown, particularly in the last few games.
Best Players: Lucinda Macintosh, Emily Boase and Tiana Trench.

Year 8A: Saints (16) vs Concordia (27)
A tough game with only 6 of our original players. Huge thanks to Sophia and Juliette from 7A for filling in a half each. With 3 out of 4 shooters absent, Sophia and Eliza stepped up in goals, and Sasha was impressive as GS in the last quarter. Our defence worked hard, but we couldn’t always convert it into gains. Last time we lost to this team by 30, so going down by only 11 this time was a great improvement.
Players of the match: Anisha Pahuja, Ava Bembridge
Superwoman: Sasha Connor for her resilience after injuring herself in the warm-up and stepping up to play GS in the last quarter.

Congratulations Matilda Purvis

Year 8 student Matilda Purvis competed at two major international Taekwondo competitions held on the Gold Coast recently.

Competing in the female under 47kg Kyorugi divisions, Matilda took part in the World Taekwondo Oceania President’s Cup on Friday 15 August, followed by the Australian Open on Sunday 17 August. These events draw talented athletes and officials from across the globe. Matilda approached both competitions with quiet determination and focus. Her efforts were rewarded with a bronze medal on Friday, and an exceptional performance and nail-biting last fight on Sunday saw her take home the gold medal. These results reflect not only her technical skill and discipline, but also the countless hours of training and preparation she has put in behind the scenes. We’re incredibly proud of Matilda’s achievements and the way she represented our School community with humility, sportsmanship, and grace.

Well done Matilda!
