A Triumphant Performance at the SA ABODA Band and Orchestra Festival!

We are thrilled to share the outstanding achievements of our talented music students, led by the Music Department, at the recent SA ABODA Band and Orchestra Festival last week. The dedication, passion, and teamwork displayed by every student and staff member involved were nothing short of inspiring—and the results, the best we have achieved in the history of our participation in this event, speak for themselves!

A standing ovation is in order for the following ensembles:

🏅 Senior Strings – Gold Award and Overall Winner of the Advanced Strings Section, Directed by Thomas Marlin
🏅 Concert Band – Gold Award and Overall Winner of the Advanced Concert Band Section, Directed by Sally Rounsevell

🏅 Intermediate Strings – Gold Award, Directed by Sally Rounsevell
🏅 Orchestra – Gold Award, Directed by Sally Rounsevell and Thomas Marlin
🥈 Percussion Ensemble – Silver Award, Directed by Paul Angas
🥈 Little Big Band – Silver Award, Directed by Warren Heading
🥈 Intermediate Band – Silver Award, Directed by Sally Rounsevell
🥈 Year 4 / Developmental Band – Silver Award, Directed by Sally Rounsevell

These accolades are a testament not only to the musical talent within our School but also to the tireless efforts of our dedicated Music staff and the strong sense of community fostered within our ensembles. Behind every polished performance are hours of rehearsal, collaboration, and shared commitment.

Participation in music ensembles provides far more than just the opportunity to perform. Students build critical life skills—resilience, responsibility, communication, and cooperation—and experience the joy of working together toward a common goal. These performances reflect that spirit, with every student contributing their unique voice to a harmonious whole.

Congratulations again to all involved! Your hard work, passion, and unity have made our School community incredibly proud. Bravo!
