Year 12 Mediterranean Hospitality Experience

In week 4, the Stage 2 Food and Hospitality students enthusiastically hosted their final group practical activity. Collaboratively the classes organised and presented a Mediterranean-inspired dinner, showcasing vibrant dishes from Spain, Italy, France, and the Middle East. Each student ensured high quality presentation and flavour of their dish, which was served in a shared plate format. The dinner took place in the Jeffrey Lynne Performing Arts Centre, which we transformed into an inviting restaurant setting. The Food and Hospitality classes contributed to every aspect of planning and execution, from selecting the theme, refining recipes, developing menus, to choosing optimal plating. We collaborated closely to ensure the night ran seamlessly. Our menu featured dips with pita bread, arancini, bruschetta, paella, prawns with gnocchi, keftedes, French chicken, and a range of French desserts. This event not only enabled us to demonstrate our culinary and time management skills, but also deepened our understanding of event planning, team work, and hospitality service whilst catering for a large group. The night was a resounding success, and we all enjoyed working together to make it happen.

Quiz Night Success!

On Wednesday 13 August, 24 students attended the MASA Quiz Night, held at Marryatville High School. The students competed in teams of 4 against students from schools such as Marryatville, Mercedes, St Ignatius and Temple Christian College. There were 3 rounds with questions on General Knowledge, Mathematics and puzzles such as Sudoku and Maths Word Jumbles.

One of our Year 8 teams, comprising of Jessica Dong, Courtney Fu, Victoria Hii and Bonnie Qu, were the overall winners of the Junior Section having won the Mathematics round and placing second in the General Knowledge round. The second-place team in the Junior division were another Year 8 team from Saints – what an impressive bunch! The Senior Teams did an amazing job against worthy opponents, their general knowledge, problem solving skills and team work was impressive.

All of our students were incredible, representing our school beautifully.
