Music Camp Reflection
Last week, the hills were alive with the sounds of music as 90 Years 7 to 12 music students attended our annual Music Camp at the picturesque Hahndorf Convention Centre. Here is what the girls had to say…
One of the best things about Music Camp was the opportunity for the musicians among the choir, band, and strings to connect – as we usually play within our own ensembles. This made my last Music Camp very enjoyable and memorable.

Attending Music Camp this year was an extremely rewarding experience. The three days we were there were filled with musical workshops and fun activities. Through this opportunity, I have been able to improve on my ensemble playing and foster new connections with younger girls.

This year was bittersweet for the year 12s as our last Music Camp, but spending it with the girls and making lasting memories was great. We had an amazing performance from Old Scholar, Emma Kavanagh and her friend Stephanie Cole. It was great to see and hear from the girls about how you can continue music after school and the career paths you can take.

Music Camp is a time where everyone comes together to play music regardless of year level – getting to know more about the younger students in my ensemble and spending time with them was really fun. I also enjoyed the days filled with nothing but music and went to bed each night tired but fulfilled with the days’ efforts.

Having attended Music Camp since Junior School, I knew it would be another rewarding experience! Learning from our teachers and tutors while sharing our passion for music with girls of all year levels made it truly special. Music Camp has always been, and will continue to be, one of the most anticipated events on the school calendar!
