Swimming Carnival 2025
This year’s Swimming Carnival looked different, with two events held – the Years 4 to 6 Carnival was on Tuesday at Norwood Outdoor Pool, and the Years 7 to 12 Carnival was on Wednesday at SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre. Despite not being a combined event, both days were filled with energy, enthusiasm, and healthy House competition. From the first race to the final relay, students showed amazing camaraderie, cheering each other on and giving their best in the pool. Whether competing for first place in Cup races, or enjoying the chance to be part of the action and earn House points, everyone contributed to the electric atmosphere of the days. The House pride extended to the staff, who proudly wore their house colours and cheered on all the girls. They were integral to ensuring both days were a success, in both their official roles and their support and encouragement of students.
Congratulations to the swimmers who achieved personal bests and to those who stepped out of their comfort zones to participate. The cumulative efforts of the days saw Selwyn awarded the overall shield for 2025, as well as the Spirit Cup – a clean sweep – well done Selwynites! The incredible sportsmanship shown by all, and House spirit on display, highlighted that the Swimming Carnival is about more than just a swimming competition; it is about coming together as a School community.
