The Secret Is Out: Year 5 Musical Revealed!

Year 5 Musical Announcement: Dive Into Adventure!
The secret is out, and we are thrilled to announce this year’s Year 5 Musical to our students, families and wider community!
Our talented Year 5 students will be bringing Disney’s Finding Nemo JR. to life on stage. This 60-minute musical is based on the beloved 2003 Finding Nemo, and features new music by award-winning songwriting duo Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
The story follows Marlin, an anxious and overprotective clownfish, who lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his son, Nemo. Dreaming of adventure, Nemo longs to explore beyond their anemone home—but when he is unexpectedly captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin must overcome his fears and set off on an epic journey across the ocean to find him.
Along the way, Marlin is joined by a host of unforgettable characters, including the ever-optimistic Dory, the laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the quirky Tank Gang. Together, they navigate challenges, discover courage, and learn important lessons about family, friendship and resilience.
Featuring much-loved songs such as Just Keep Swimming, Fish Are Friends Not Food, and Go With the Flow, this vibrant production promises to transport audiences into a colourful underwater world full of heart, humour and adventure.
We cannot wait to share this exciting production with you—stay tuned for performance dates and ticket details!
Celebrating Our Planet: Earth Hour in Action
As part of our year-long unit of learning, People recognise important events through different commemorations, we participated in Earth Hour on Friday 27 March. This is the 20th anniversary of ‘light’s off’ for our planet. The girls wore their slippers and brought a cuddly toy for an hour of special stories and activities to celebrate our earth and find out how to care for our planet.

Wonderful Webs!
The Reception students have been involved in weekly science lessons with our Scientist in Residence, Dr Timna Garnett.
Last week, the girls listened to the story ‘I Worked Hard on That’ by Robyn Wall. Kiara the spider has always made webs to catch food, but one day, she discovers a web so beautiful that she’s inspired to spin a masterpiece of her own. So, Kiara starts creating, but even though she works hard on her webs, they are carelessly destroyed by others. How frustrating!
Reception scientists enjoyed spinning their own webs using persistence and creating an over and under weaving pattern.
A big thank you to Dr Garnett for all of the wonderful science experiences planned for the girls this term.
