From Our Head and Deputy Head Prefects

2024, how can we even begin to describe it! Coming into this, we hoped each day would be filled with laughter and excitement but to say that now is an understatement. It truly has been one of the best years of our lives. Whether it is the celebrations, the house events, Year 12 retreat or even just recess and lunches, it has been a year that all of us will cherish forever.

The privilege of leading the cohort and the School throughout this memorable year was the cherry on top. Our journeys have been filled with challenges, good days and bad days. These experiences have taught us how to be positive, confident and calm under pressure. We have worked every day to be inspiring leaders and good people. We have come to understand that not all-important things in life are assessable in a test or an assignment. What truly matters is who you are as a person and how you choose to be a role model for others.

A massive thank you goes out to the brilliant 2024 Prefect Team who have worked by our side throughout this year. Each one of you elevated your roles and led from the front with immense passion and a strong sense of joy. We are so proud of everything we have achieved as a team over the year, and we sincerely hope that we leave behind a legacy inspired by sisterhood, love and fun, the values that make Saints our home away from home.

We would also like to thank the entire School community. The staff, the parents and of course the girls, you have all been so supportive of us throughout the year, it has made the year so special. A leader is only as good as the people who lift them up and we could not have achieved what we have without your continual belief in our abilities and trust in our vision.

We would especially like to thank Ms Skewes our Principal and Miss Sutton our Deputy Principal and Head of Senior School for giving us this incredible opportunity. We have learnt so much from you this year, it truly has been an experience of a lifetime. Thank you for your guidance and wisdom throughout the year, we could not have done it without both of you!

Lastly, the most important thank you goes to the class of 2024. What a bunch of incredible girls! From day one you took everything on board and approached the year with such a positive attitude. It really brought what can only be described as an electric feeling to the School. We know that there are not only 17 Prefects who are leaders of this School, but there are 73 year 12 students who are role models to all of the students and each other too.

Not seeing each other every day next year will be very difficult, as we have become a family and have made connections that will last a lifetime. In saying that, we know that life is going to take each and every one of you to wonderful places and we will always be there for each other for years to come.

As sad as it is to say goodbye, we know that the School is left in the brilliant and capable hands of 2025 Head Prefect, Mollie Kennett and Deputy Head Prefect, Olivia Park and their sensational 2025 Prefect Team. We can’t wait to see all they achieve, and we know they will do an outstanding job!

Please join us in welcoming both Karen and Stacey to the Saints community.

Out of the Blue Journal Launch

The Out of the Blue Journal each year showcases students’ work from across the School community, bringing together all aspects of art in a student published Journal.

This year, the Out of the Blue Arts Journal will be launched during Week 4 on Wednesday 6 November from 4 to 5pm in the Chapel. This event commemorates the School’s dedication to the arts on its 130th anniversary and the journal’s fifth anniversary. Join us to celebrate the remarkable talents of the students whose works are featured in the journal, along with the commitment and time of the Out of the Blue Journal Committee, who have produced this publication. Light refreshments will be served, the event will also include the announcement of prize winners and an Old Scholar as the guest speaker.

We invite you to join us for this exciting event.
