Winter Intercol Excitement!
Last week the annual Winter Intercol competition kicked off for our Middle and Senior School girls with our Premier League Soccer team bringing home the shield in an 8-1 win over Walford.
Intercol games continued on Saturday morning with Badminton, Hockey and Netball all taking place. There was perfect weather, and with the sun shining our girls were out in full force to either play or support their teammates.
Our Hockey girls started the morning strongly with a 7-1 win, continuing their dominant season in the Senior A Hockey competition. Our Senior Bs were out cheering on their teammates from the sidelines.
Five of our 12 Badminton teams played at Walford Sports Centre. Our other seven teams all came along to support their teammates. With so many girls in attendance, it looked like a Saints home match! The players did not disappoint the Saints crowd, coming away with a 5 match to 0 win.
Netball rounded out our weekend of Intercol competition, with Saints hosting 11 netball matches across two time slots. As with badminton and hockey, our supporter numbers were outstanding, there was a sea of blue watching every match. With eight strong wins on the board, we made it a clean sweep of Saturday morning Intercol trophies!
Our Intercol round finishes off this afternoon with our Middle A and Senior A’s Aussie Rules teams playing at Payneham Oval starting at 3.10pm. There will be a free BBQ will be available for all players, officials and spectators.
