National Aboriginal Children’s Day
On Tuesday Week 2, the RAP. Ambassadors held a Bake Sale to raise awareness for National Aboriginal Children’s Day. This day is held on 4 August each year. It is significant as this date represents the arbitrary birthday given to many Aboriginal children who were forcibly removed from their families during the Stolen Generation. We raised a total of $319 with all proceeds from the Bake Sale going to the Aboriginal Literacy Foundations. The Foundation seeks to transform the lives of Indigenous children by focusing on literacy and numeracy education. Their goal is for a future where all Indigenous children can pursue quality education.
