BASKETBALL

Year 3/4 Blue: Saints (18) v Wilderness (26)
A great first game and team performance with some girls playing their first ever basketball game, as well as a keen Year 2 Willow Bannear making her basketball debut. Everyone gave 100% effort until the very end of the game which is all I asked for.
Best Players: Advika Desai, Claire Lucas, Summer Bannear and Rebecca Xia.
Superwoman: Aashna Bhatt. Aashna played the majority of the game, scored a majority of the points, played a majority of the defence, and made a majority of the passes. More importantly, she took on the responsibility of trying to help her teammates be in the right spots and understand the game a little better.

Year 3/4 White: Saints (32) v Pembroke (20)
Best Player: Emily Do scored 12 points and played great defence to get the ball back for her team and then used her great skills to share it around to all her teammates.
Superwoman: Erica Park took on a big defensive job of defending a girl much taller than her. She did a great job putting her under pressure and making it hard for her team to pass to her.

Congratulations to the girls as this was the best they have played all season. They implemented the set plays we have worked on at training and it paid off as we were able to be competitive until the last quarter.

Year 5/6 Sky: Saints (8) vs Pembroke (6)
Best Player: Ishana Roy

Year 5/6 Blue: Saints (30) v Seymour (11)
Best Player: Violet Tulloch. Very strong in defence, some great long shoulder passes into our goalies and picked up lots of loose balls.
Superwoman: Ava Duldig had to come on quickly due to an injury and didn’t miss a beat! Ava put into play our overhead passes which had been a focus at training. She was able to release the ball quickly and executed lovely passes.
Well done to everyone. A great team effort, where I saw the girls try to put what we practised into their games. Very proud!
