Saints Girls’ Newsies Shines with Prestigious TASA Award Nominations
Extra! Extra! Read all about it — Saints Girls are making headlines!
We are delighted to share the exciting news that this year’s School Musical, Newsies, has been nominated for a prestigious TASA Award through the Theatre Association of South Australia. This recognition celebrates outstanding achievement across the state, and we are incredibly proud that our students’ hard work has been acknowledged on such a significant platform.
Newsies has been nominated for Best Youth Musical, a testament to the exceptional quality of the production both on and off the stage. From high-energy choreography and powerful vocals to impressive technical design and orchestral support, the show truly showcased the depth of talent within our Saints Girls community.
We are also thrilled to congratulate Alex Nguyen, who has been nominated for Best Youth Performer for her charismatic portrayal of Jack Kelly. Alex’s dedication to the role, combined with her stage presence and emotional depth, made her performance a standout highlight of the Musical.
What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that Saints Girls is one of only four schools in South Australia to receive a nomination in this year’s awards.
These nominations are a tribute to the commitment, creativity, and teamwork of our entire cast, crew, production team, staff, and supporters. Each student involved contributed to the vibrant storytelling and professionalism that brought Newsies to life.
We congratulate everyone who played a part in this unforgettable production and look forward to celebrating alongside the SA theatre community at the upcoming TASA Awards ceremony. Here’s a video to relive the spectacular performance.
A Night of Heavenly Harmonies: Carols in the Cathedral 2025
On Tuesday evening, the glorious St Peter’s Cathedral was filled with heavenly harmonies as our talented students took centre stage for the much-anticipated Carols in the Cathedral. The evening was a true celebration of the festive season, as our students captivated the audience with their beautiful vocal and instrumental performances.
The event was more than just a concert; it was a gathering of our entire School community, coming together to share in the spirit of Christmas. As the voices of our students echoed through the cathedral’s stunning walls, it was clear that this cherished tradition remains a highlight of the year for all involved.
A special thank you goes to our Music students and staff, whose dedication and hard work brought these magical performances to life.

A Beautiful Day of Dance on Kaurna Land
Our Dance students, together with Mrs Burnett and guest artist, Kaine Sultan-Babij, spent a beautiful day of dance on Kaurna land, creating a very special dance film: our Acknowledgement of Country, showcased at Presentation Night on Thursday 4 December.
Set against stunning natural scenery, the Dancers brought the landscape to life through movement, offering a performance that was both heartfelt and captivating. Their artistry, combined with the cultural significance of the piece, made the film truly memorable.
We extend special thanks to Kirsten Mansfield and Year 10 Visual Arts students for their exquisite costuming, which enriched the visual storytelling and added to the overall beauty of the production.
