FROM OUR HEAD OF JUNIOR SCHOOL

eNews |

This week, we celebrated the remarkable creativity of our Reception to Year 6 students through the Art Trail exhibition. Monday’s launch welcomed parents to explore the stunning artworks displayed throughout the Junior School, while on Tuesday our girls proudly shared their artistic achievements with their grandparents and treasured friends. We warmly thank the many grandparents and treasured friends who could join us for this special celebration.

The Art Trail featured clay nature impressions, aerial paintings, fish and bird sculptures, a flower garden made from recycled materials, watercolour paintings of flora and fauna, embroidery, and large canvas paintings of animals – each piece reflecting the artists’ unique vision. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Patricia Wise, JS Art Teacher, for creating this wonderful Art Trail experience that has brought so much joy to our community.

Our students are now ready to take the stage! Next week, we will be holding our Year 2, 3, 4 Music Concert on Tuesday 16 September, and on Thursday 18 September, our Year 3-6 students will present their co-curricular dance performance. Excitement is also building for our Year 5 production of Oliver, occurring in Week 10. We look forward to enjoying these wonderful events with our community and hope to see you there!

From the vibrant Art Trail to our upcoming music, dance and theatre performances, these events showcase the exceptional talents of our girls and our fabulous Arts program in the Junior School. Through creative exploration, our students discover new avenues for self-expression and meaningful ways to communicate and connect with the world around them. As they explore different perspectives and experiences through the arts, our girls are building confidence, resilience, problem-solving and creative skills that they extend into all areas of their learning.

In 2026, we are enhancing our Junior School Arts program with a new Dance and Drama specialist lesson – an exciting addition for all students from Reception to Year 6.
