At St Peter’s Girls’ School, diversity isn’t just embraced; diversity is celebrated with enthusiasm, particularly on Harmony Day. This special occasion, observed annually on March 21st, is a time when students and teachers come together to appreciate the richness of cultures that make up our School community. Throughout this week, the Year 6 SRC Leaders ran lunchtime sessions making friendship bracelets. It was wonderful to see girls of varying ages working together and sharing their stories. This morning, the Junior School Assembly was presented by our Semester 1 SRC Members, who introduced themselves in different languages and shared information about cultural foods and games. A highlight of the Assembly was Mrs Strever and Mrs Munga teaching us all how to say ‘Good Day’ and ‘Thank You’ in Afrikaans. Harmony Day is a wonderful reminder that, regardless of our differences, we share a common humanity and should strive to create a harmonious and inclusive society.
