FROM OUR HEAD OF MIDDLE SCHOOL

Our annual Choral Night was Thursday night this week, where Years 7 to 12 students performed and danced their way to the stage at Future’s Church. This Interhouse singing competition has been an established tradition in our School for decades and is an event that is the highlight for many of the School year. With the theme of ‘The 70s’, each House performed a song of this era – allowing many in the audience a trip down memory lane!

Choral Night is an outstanding example of the impact the House System has on our girls – the sense of belonging it provides cannot be understood unless it is experienced personally. Students spent close to three weeks preparing and rehearsing during Home Group and lunch time, lead by their House Leaders and other vocal and musical talents.

For many, stepping onto the stage and performing in front of hundreds is a daunting experience, and something they may never do without the opportunity of Choral Night. Each House brings passion and a competitive House spirit to the stage, hoping to hold the trophy at the end of the night. However, I believe the best part of the evening is seeing all students from every House support each other. The cheering for each House was deafening at times, and emphasised the genuine care our girls have for seeing each other succeed.

Well done, and congratulations, goes to PATTESON for their win!
