The girls had a tough game, playing with the bare four. They did as well as they could, given the circumstances and continued to show determination throughout the match. Although they struggled with their serves, they worked hard to make the most of their rallies and kept pushing through each set.
The girls had a very close first set, narrowly going down 25-23, and it was a set they easily could’ve won if it weren’t for a few unforced errors. The following sets finished 25-14 and 25-16, with the girls fighting right to the last point despite fatigue and limited rotations.
Even with the losses, the girls’ resilience and teamwork stood out. They should be proud of how they held themselves and continued to compete under pressure. Well done on a great season girls!

Congratulations Georgia – Karate State Championship
Georgia Ketteridge was selected for the South Australian karate team to compete at the 2025 GKR Australian National Championships following her State title win in September.
At the State Championships, she claimed Gold in Kata and Silver in Kumite for her division (age group and 4th kyu ranking), earning her place at Nationals, held in Melbourne on Saturday 22 November.
The event brought together 750 competitors from across Australia and New Zealand, making it the largest karate tournament in the Southern Hemisphere to date.
Georgia was in a large division of 21 and was eliminated by the eventual gold medallist in Kata but she fought strongly in her Kumite bouts, coming from behind to reach the bronze medal match finishing fourth overall.
It was an incredible experience, and she is excited for the competitions ahead in 2026.
