Creating the Spotlight: How Year 8 Brought Art to Life
The Year 8 Production was something I will never forget. It was an extremely fun way to experience production work through different art forms and roles. Throughout this process, it was evident how dedicated all of us girls were. Every student from every subject, including Visual Arts, Dance, Drama, and Music, were highly devoted to creating a wonderful work of art, and despite being in some highly stressful situations, we managed to pull through and perform a wonderful production which delighted our audience. The Arts Rotation is a really unique way to learn about the different art forms. As Home Groups, over the first two and a half terms, we spent 6 weeks at each arts subject, getting a taste of how they were connected to the production process. Finally, we put in our preferences for which subject we wanted to participate in for the production, and then were assigned a subject and worked in our subject groups to create segments of the production specific to our area of expertise. We eventually came together the day before and the day of the production to rehearse as a single unit. Overall, the experience was extremely memorable and something I will forever cherish!
