A Reindeer, a Rescue, and a Reception Full of Christmas Cheer!
It was such a joy to share our Reception Christmas Assembly on Friday! The girls were so proud to bring the story Rose the Reindeer to life. Throughout the term, we explored this text as part of our literacy learning, with a focus on expression, characterisation, timing, and vocalisation.
The story opens with a Christmas dilemma- Rudolf has caught a cold and is unable to pull Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve. Thankfully, Rose the Reindeer arrives, eager to help save the day. In her excitement, however, she overlooks one small problem… she can’t fly! With the support of Santa, the elves, and the entire Christmas cast, she soon learns that teamwork can solve even the trickiest challenges.
This experience has allowed the girls to grow in confidence as they sang, delivered their lines and demonstrated wonderful courage and presence on stage. A heartfelt thank you to our families for joining us, it was a beautiful and memorable way to begin the Christmas season together.
