Saints Take Silver at Badminton Knockout

Congratulations to our Open Knockout Badminton team (Caitlyn Sam-Ling, Hailey Lee, Agnes Li, Valerie Ng, Olivia Ng) who competed at the state finals day last Thursday.

From Badminton Coach Justin Tan:
Last Thursday, Saints Girls played strongly and challenged the top seeds, Glenunga, in the Knockout Open Finals. Matches were tough, but the team performed excellently. The girls showed great sportsmanship and spirit throughout the day, cheering for one another on the court. Congratulations to all players for their determination and teamwork to win the silver medal in the 2025 Badminton Statewide Schools Championship!

Zoe is Heading to Aerobics World Championships!

During the last week of August, Zoe White competed in the international stream at the FISAF National Sports Aerobics competition on the Gold Coast. The four day competition was a great opportunity to meet athletes from other clubs and support her club, Activ8, in various sections. Zoe’s team, Domin8, came in first place and was selected for the 2025 Australian team. Zoe will be competing at the World Championships in Prague, Czech Republic, in October. Well done Zoe, such an amazing achievement!

Olivia is Water Polo MVP!

Congratulations to Olivia Reynolds, who was awarded the Water Polo SA 17&U Most Valuable Player for the 2024/2025 season. This is an amazing achievement for Liv, who is not only a constant competitor for our Saints Girls team, but an amazing athlete at club level too. Well done Liv!

Saints Aerobics Teams at Nationals

Last week, 3 teams went to the Gold Coast, Queensland, to compete in the FISAF Aerobics Nationals representing Saints Girls. It was an extremely successful weekend, coaches and staff were very proud of the athletes who competed. Diva Fever came 6th and Fly Girls came 3rd in the Secondary Pre-Choreographed Phase 2 (Years 7 to 12). The first national top three placement since 2022, woohoo! A huge thank you to Aerobics Captain, Lara, who learnt a routine in two weeks and performed with Diva Fever, even with numerous wardrobe malfunctions throughout the day! The Royals team placed 11th in Secondary Pre-Choreographed Phase 1 (Year 7 Only) division. Congratulations to all the girls, what an amazing experience!

From Aerobics captain Lara Maoine:
17 Saints girls attend The FISAF National Championships on the Gold Coast, which ran from Wednesday 26 to 31 August. This year, we were lucky enough to have three Saints Girls represent our School in two different sections. I was incredibly proud of the girls’ achievements, dedication and spirit throughout this event and the whole season. Each team went on stage with nothing to lose and gave it their best, which is all we can ask for. Considering we had many first-time athletes competing in Nationals this year, I was amazed by how everyone handled their nerves, organised themselves and brought the most amazing energy throughout the day.

Each team had a very competitive section with up to 12 other teams competing against them from different states! We had some amazing results with Fly Girls placing 3rd, Diva Fever placing 6th and the Royals placing 11th each in their respective categories. We were up against some amazing schools with older athletes; however, we were still competitive and fierce. We demonstrated the Saints’ values: courage, compassion and creativity and each team improved significantly from their first competition in May. I could not be prouder of each team, and I know that next year the girls will work hard and achieve some more amazing results!

I strongly encourage the girls to return to aerobics next year and hopefully we have inspired some new girls to come and try this sport because it is great fun, fitness and an amazing opportunity to go away and compete at a national level.

Matilda Plays Hockey for SA

Over the holidays Matilda Paterson competed at the U18 State Hockey Championships in Perth. Matilda received a ‘player of the match’ award, and represented both South Australia and Saints Girls tremendously. Well done Matilda!

Georgia Beaton Cup

On Saturday, we had our annual Georgia Beaton Cup, with our premier league team facing off against our netball Old Scholars. In what was a great morning with a great crowd, both teams put on a great match. The Old Scholars narrowly came away with the win by 3 goals: 38-35.
