Best Players: Abbie Tulloch
This game demonstrated the strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie amongst the girls. Down at halftime, our focus was on spacing in attack and utilising the width of the pool. Taking on this feedback, the girls came through with a win. Throughout the game, Abbie did an amazing job of pressing in defence, which she was able to steal the ball and convert it into a goal. All the girls played super well and finished the term with a win.

VOLLEYBALL

Year 4/5 Saints (1/61) vs Concordia College (2/73)
Best Players: Hazel Bigg, Angelique Brinias, Thea Johns, Aanya Milan, Kostia Psaltis and Cindy Zhang.
All the girls played a fantastic game today, showing incredible improvement and teamwork across all three sets. Despite narrowly losing the first two sets 25-18, there was clear growth in their transitions, communication, and confidence. The girls worked hard to execute cleaner passes, call for the ball, and keep rallies alive, which was evident in the way they supported one another on court.

Year 6 Blue Saints (1/55) vs Concordia College (2/69)

Year 6 White Saints (0) vs Concordia College (2)
Best Player: Felicity Zhu

Senior A Saints (1/45) vs Concordia College (2/68)
Best Players: Annabel Keough and Angelina Tran
Superwoman: Naomi Meng. Naomi stepped up and played with confidence. Serving and setting strongly. A tough match, but we managed to hang in the 2nd set with strong serving runs from Annabel and Angelina putting pressure on the Concordia reception. Communication faltered again in the 3rd and allowed Concordia to run away with the match.

Senior B Saints (3/75) vs Concordia College (0/50)
Best Player: Jasmin Cetinkol
Superwoman: Christy Cheng
We set the focus on communication and positioning. We achieved both, allowing the team cohesion to be the platform for setting up great attacking play. Amazing serving runs from Jasmin in every set kept the pressure on Concordia. We had to come from behind to win the 2nd set, but we kept pushing hard to make it a whitewash 3-0. Great game to close out the year!

Senior C Blue Saints (3) vs St Peter’s Senior D White (0)
Best Player: Maryem Eksi
The team was doing well at getting 3 touches and giving overarm serves a go. To improve, they could work on moving forward to get balls that are coming short. They were supportive of each other and worked well as a team.

Senior C White Saints (2) vs St Peter’s Senior C Silver (0)
Best Players: Sylvie Flavel
The team were very solid in their serving and passing. They were also hitting some balls over which is an improvement from the start of the season. They were a bit quiet towards the start of the game but got louder as the game went on.

From the Girls:
A big thank you to Coach Miss Nikki Brennan and Georgina Scicluna for coaching and supporting the team throughout the day. Your guidance, encouragement, and enthusiasm made a huge difference.

From the very start, we were excited to represent our School in the ASC Touch Football Carnival. This year, the competition was mixed, meaning we faced some very speedy and strong boys’ teams, which challenged us to step up our game.

In Game 1, we played against Pulteney. Even though we lost this match, it was a great opportunity to focus on improving our communication and teamwork, which helped us immediately in our next games.

In Game 2, we applied what we had learned and performed much better, winning in the first half. Although our opponents came back to win the overall game, we were proud of how much our team had grown.

Game 3 was extremely close. We stayed competitive throughout the match, listened to feedback, and put it into practice. The game ended with a narrow 6–5 loss, but we felt confident in our progress and teamwork.

In our final game, we gave everything we had, showing determination, resilience, and strong collaboration. Between matches, we had fun cheering for and supporting the netball girls alongside their coach Emilia, celebrating their wins and sharing the excitement of the day.

Overall, the day was a fantastic experience. We not only improved our skills and teamwork but also gained valuable experience playing against a mixed competition, testing ourselves against some very fast and skilled players. We are proud of our efforts and grateful for the chance to participate in such a fun and challenging carnival.

A big thank you to Alison Ferral, who supported the team as supervising staff and enthusiastic cheerleader, and to Coach Emilia Rinaldi, who proudly led the Year 5/6 Navy Netball team to compete in this year’s Anglican School Cup Carnival. The girls demonstrated outstanding effort, resilience, and sportsmanship throughout the day. With the team allocated the first time slot off, they faced the demanding challenge of playing four consecutive full games without a break. Despite the warm conditions and a tight schedule, they maintained remarkable determination and represented the school with pride. Each player should be immensely proud of her achievements.

Match Results:

  • Game 1: Pulteney vs St Peter’s Girls – Win 15–12
A highly competitive and closely contested match, with the team securing a well-deserved 3-goal victory.
  • Game 2: St Peter’s Woodlands vs St Peter’s Girls – Loss 17–15
Another tight contest that tested the girls’ versatility across multiple positions. Their ability to adapt under pressure was a highlight of this match.
  • Game 3: Woodcroft vs St Peter’s Girls – Win 22–6
A strong and confident performance. This game provided an opportunity to trial new combinations and refine team strategies, all of which the girls embraced with enthusiasm.
  • Game 4: St John’s vs St Peter’s Girls – Win 19–6
A fast-paced and highly competitive game featuring excellent movement and strong teamwork. The girls demonstrated precision, speed, and smart decision-making down the court.
  • Grand Final: St Peter’s Woodlands vs St Peter’s Girls – Loss 23–11
Unfortunately, two players were forced to step off due to heat-related illness, leaving the remaining seven to finish the match without substitutes. Despite fatigue and the added pressure of a large crowd during the host school’s lunch break, the girls showed tremendous courage and determination. Their resilience in the grand final was admirable.

A Message from Coach Emilia Rinaldi
Thank you girls, for such an enjoyable netball season. Coaching the Year 5/6 Navy Team has been a true pleasure. You are a wonderful group, and it has been inspiring to witness your growth, commitment, and passion for the game this year.

Coaching you all has been incredibly rewarding. Watching your transformation and development both on and off the court—has been a highlight of my year. Your confidence has grown, your versatility across multiple positions has shone through, and your willingness to challenge yourselves has been outstanding. Always remember to believe in yourselves. Trust your abilities, embrace every challenge, and keep striving to be the best version of yourselves on the court and beyond. Keep dreaming big, stay true to who you are, and know that you are capable of achieving incredible things.

2025 3rd Grade and Novice State Championships

The competitive rowing season got into full swing last weekend, with the Rowing SA 3rd Grade and Novice State Championships. The ‘Rower Score’ system divides rowers into ‘Grades’ based on their experience and results, with crews needing to meet an average ‘score’ to be eligible for entry into an event. As such, the events are not exclusive to schoolgirl crews or confined to certain year levels. Our crews found themselves racing against adult club crews and school crews from other year levels.

Saints Girls performed strongly throughout the day, often finding themselves at the front of the field. Our Junior squad contested the Novice Women’s Quad Scull, where our 8/9 A and B crews progressed to the final, placing 4th and 2nd! This result was repeated by our Senior and Intermediate squads in the 3rd Grade Women’s Eight, where we boated mixed crews combining students from both squads, placing 2nd and 4th.

Our Senior squad claimed two state titles, in the 3rd Grade Women’s Coxed Four and the 3rd Grade Women’s Coxed Quad. The Four was one of the most tightly contested events of the day, with our crew having to hold off a strong challenge in the last 250m, winning by only 0.80 seconds. Whereas in the Coxed Quad, our Seniors produced a dominant display, winning their heat and final by clear water!

Well done to all of our crews on outstanding results, and we look forward to seeing how they can continue to perform throughout the season.
