A Spectacular Feathered Fantasy!

‘Lessons from the Birds’ took flight as the theme for this year’s absolutely magical Reception and Year 1 Dance concert!

The stage came alive with wonder as our Reception stars transformed into elegant, gliding swans and mischievous, waddling penguins that had the audience giggling with delight. Meanwhile, our Year 1 performers burst into a kaleidoscope of colour as vibrant rainforest parrots that chattered and fluttered, and stunning flamingos that dazzled with their graceful moves. Each captivating dance told a beautiful story, revealing the incredible wisdom our feathered friends have to share with us!

We are extremely grateful for Kirsty, our extraordinary dance teacher, who works her magic with our girls every single week! Her infectious passion, boundless creativity, and nurturing spirit inspire each child to shine, fostering not just spectacular dance skills but also self-expression, friendship, and pure joy in movement.

A huge round of applause must also go to Scott, our tech wizard, who worked behind the scenes to create the perfect backdrop for the performance.

What a colourful and exciting performance that left everyone in the audience beaming with pride!

Students to Represent Our School at the Australian National Eisteddfod

We are proud to announce that two of our talented students, Mathea Zhong and Aimee Ju, will be travelling to Canberra this month to take part in the prestigious Australian National Eisteddfod Piano Competition.

In addition to performing their individual solo pieces, the girls will also compete in the Piano Duet (Four Hands, One Piano) category. They will be performing Jamaican Rumba by Arthur Benjamin—a lively and vibrant piece that showcases both technical skill and musical flair in a tightly coordinated three-minute performance.

This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to share their passion for music on a national stage, and we are incredibly proud of their dedication and achievement.

We wish our girls the very best as they prepare for this exciting event!

Year 1 Students Discover Animal Life at Gorge Wildlife Park

Last week, the Year 1 classes embarked on a much-anticipated excursion to Gorge Wildlife Park as part of their inquiry into the Central Idea: Living things depend on their environment to meet their basic needs. The excursion provided a wonderful hands-on opportunity for students to observe and interact with a range of animals and deepen their understanding of the natural world.

The day was filled with memorable encounters. The students were delighted to cuddle some very friendly wallabies, feed hungry camels, and have ‘conversations’ with a group of curious and social otters. There was great excitement as we visited the monkey enclosures and many of the monkeys eagerly gestured for more food to be placed in their bucket, much to the students’ amusement!

Throughout the day, the girls had the chance to observe capybaras, dingoes, and penguins. A definite highlight was the chance to pat a koala, a snake, and a tortoise, experiences that sparked lots of questions and conversations.

We were also fortunate to have Miss Amelia, our Scientist in Residence, join us on the excursion. She enriched the experience by speaking with the students about different animals, their habitats, and how they meet their basic needs.

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers who generously gave their time to support us on the day. Your help is always appreciated and played a big part in making the excursion such a success.

Chat Academy Growth and Development Education Evening
