Year 9 Aquatics Camp Reflection

Last week, our Year 9 cohort went on Aquatics Camp in Murray Bridge, where we participated in a variety of water-based activities across two days. Knee-boarding and skiing were the most popular, but I also enjoyed kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding. Some activities, like sailing, were new to many of us, so we got to learn new skills and have a go at things we hadn’t tried before. Overall, the camp was really fun and I loved spending time with lots of different people.

I really loved Aquatics Camp! We all took part in water skiing, knee boarding, sailing, kayaking, canoeing and many other activities. I especially enjoyed skiing and stand up paddleboarding, and the night activity was great too – when we all made anklets for each other. The experiences helped to push us out of our comfort zones and face our fears. Overall, this camp was an exciting experience, giving us the chance to make new friends and bond with each other.

Year 10s on Stellar Mission

This week, our Year 10 students took part in Mission Gravity, an OzGrav program that combines scientific modelling with immersive virtual reality. Working in teams, the students built a model of stellar evolution by collecting and analysing data from a virtual trip to nearby stars. Using the laws of physics and the freedom of virtual reality, they explored how stars change over time. The program aims to inspire the next generation of Australian scientists and engineers through this window into the universe.
