Year 6 Students Explore the Future of Food with Post Dining
As part of our Unit of Inquiry, Sharing the Planet, Year 6 students took part in a Post Dining incursion linked to the Central Idea: People can use technology to design sustainable solutions.
Students explored future-focused food innovations such as vertical farming, lab-grown meat, and edible insects. They even had the chance to taste ‘foods of the future’ including lemon myrtle popcorn, green ants, and mealworms!
The interactive session sparked rich discussions about food security, sustainability, and innovation. Inspired by the experience, students are now beginning to design their own sustainable food solutions for the future.

MindLab Olympics
On Tuesday 23 July, our Years 5 and 6 students participated in the annual School MindLab Competition. The event showcased the girls’ strategic thinking and teamwork as they competed in four challenging games: Octi, Abalone, Quoridor, and Olympic Checkers.
These games are not only fun and engaging but also designed to build important skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and cognitive development. Throughout the day, students demonstrated perseverance and creativity in their gameplay, making it a valuable learning experience for all involved.
A big congratulations to Sophie Gu, Ella Nelson, Samaira Soodan, Kate Yin, Jiaen Lu, Angela Shi, Harper Nguyen and Shelly Cui, who performed exceptionally well and have been selected to represent our School at the interschool MindLab competition, held at Wilderness on Friday 8 August. We wish them the very best as they take on students from other schools in what promises to be an exciting and competitive event. Well done to all our participants for their enthusiasm and effort!

Junior School Book Week Parade – Mark this exciting event in your calendars!

The Junior School Book Week Parade will be held on Friday 22 August (Week 5). This year’s theme is ‘Book An Adventure.’ Junior School students are invited to come dressed as a book character or a character that fits this year’s theme. The students will parade their costumes along the pathway to the Chapel from 8.35am, and families are welcome to come and watch. The students will also be involved in an Assembly following the parade, which will have capacity for students only.
We look forward to celebrating Book Week 2025!
