Bravo, Year 5s! A Spectacular Performance of OLIVER! JR. Shines Bright!

Please sir we want some more!

At the end of last term, The Year 5 Production of OLIVER! JR. staged four glorious performances for the Saints community. All 56 Year 5 students were involved as they acted, sang and danced their way through 70 minutes of musical theatre magic created by Lionel Bart who adapted this show from Charles Dickens’ classic story.

Audiences were genuinely stunned by the girls’ execution, performance and genuine love for what they were doing with many saying the Production was ‘polished’, ‘professional’ and ‘incredible talent for children this age.’ Accolades aside, the teachers were tremendously proud of each student’s enthusiasm, commitment, organisation and the ability to take risks and move out of their comfort zones. Hopefully, they’ll cherish these special memories for the rest of their schooling and beyond.

The Production was based on our Unit of Inquiry, How We Express Ourselves, and the girls not only produced a journal of all of their work but artwork aswell, which was featured in the Production, most notably the pocket handkerchiefs.

The enormity and success of this Production is due to many people and we would like to thank the music staff, the maintenance team, our costumiers, the Year 6 crew and the parents and extended families for their support. We’d especially like to thank Ms Jodie Heath and Ms Sasha Protopopoff (Production Managers).
