Year 9 Arts Collaboration
The Year 9 Arts Collaboration is one of the highlights of the year, and this years showcase was no exception. From Hip Hop, dance routines to drama and musical performances, stunning visual artwork to originial choreography, our students truly brought their A-game.
We are beyond proud of the achievement, confidence, and teamwork displayed by each Arts student.
Engineering a Brighter Future: Saints Students Celebrate INWED
A select group of Year 11 students from St Peter’s Girls’ School recently had the opportunity to attend the International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) Breakfast, joining more than 230 guests in a celebration of women in engineering and the powerful role they play in shaping our world.
With women still making up just 14% of the engineering workforce, INWED serves as a vital platform to inspire the next generation, amplify diverse voices, and spotlight the growing opportunities in STEM—particularly here in South Australia.
Students heard from three accomplished speakers who are leading the way in their fields:
- Bernadette Foley, Group Executive, Engineers Australia
- Franke Agenbag, Space Systems Engineer, DST
- Rebecca Brickhill, Deputy GM – Naval Combat Systems, Saab Australia
Together, the morning explored how to:
- Recognise the impact of women engineers
- Promote engineering careers to young women
- Foster collaboration and inclusive leadership
- Drive visibility and access across the profession
These discussions come at a pivotal time. With a record $27.3 billion infrastructure investment announced in the South Australian Budget, including major projects like the Torrens to Darlington Corridor and the new Women’s and Children’s Hospital, the need for skilled engineers—particularly women—is only growing.
Events like INWED give our students a front-row seat to the future, strengthening the STEM mindset we cultivate at Saints Girls and opening their eyes to the vast possibilities ahead.
We extend our sincere thanks to Dr Susan Pearce for sponsoring our students to attend this event and for championing opportunities that connect education with industry.
At St Peter’s Girls, we don’t just nurture talent—we empower young women to lead with purpose, confidence, and innovation.
