Year 6 Graduation

A Celebration of Growth, Leadership, and New Beginnings

Last week, we celebrated the graduation of our Year 6 cohort, a momentous occasion marking the end of their Junior School journey and the exciting start of a new chapter. It was a day filled with reflection, pride, and joy as we recognised the hard work, friendships, and growth these incredible students have experienced over the years.

The ceremony featured beautiful musical performances and a heartwarming video, showcasing the girls’ reflections on their time during Junior School. It was a touching reminder of how much they’ve evolved, both academically and personally.

The highlight of the day was the presentation of graduation certificates, where we acknowledged each student’s achievements and outstanding leadership throughout 2025. From their dedication to learning to their support for one another, the girls have truly set an example of leadership and friendship.

As they prepare to transition to Middle School in 2026, we are excited to watch them continue to grow and thrive. We wish our Year 6 graduates all the best in the next stage of their educational journey, confident that they will continue to inspire and lead with the same courage, creativity, and compassion.

Years 1 and 2 Nativity

Our Years 1 and 2 students shone brightly in this year’s Nativity performance, bringing the Christmas story to life with warmth, enthusiasm, and a touch of festive sparkle. With confident voices, expressive acting, and joyful singing, the girls truly captured the spirit of the season, making it a highlight of our school’s celebrations.

Year 3 Camp: An Unforgettable Adventure at Victor Harbor

The Year 3 students recently returned from a wonderful camp experience at Victor Harbor, brimming with stories of adventure, laughter, and personal growth. Over several action-packed days, the girls embraced new challenges and created memories that will last a lifetime.

Camp began with a horse-drawn cart ride across the causeway to Granite Island where we had lunch and enjoyed chatter amongst friends. The girls truly showed their determination during Survivor-style team-building games, working together to solve problems and complete physical challenges. These activities pushed them outside their comfort zones and highlighted the importance of communication and cooperation.

As the sun set each evening, the girls enjoyed delicious meals together in the dining hall while sharing stories from the day. Friendly competition and plenty of giggles filled the air in for movie night and twilight mini-golf.

A visit to Goolwa Animal Farm allowed students to connect with a variety of animals, from fluffy guinea pigs and rabbits to Penelope the Python and even hilarious emus. The highlight for many was the strawberry picking excursion, where students delighted in harvesting and eating their own fresh berries straight from the field.

Throughout the camp, kindness shone brightly with new friendships forged and old ones strengthened. The experience of staying together in a the old ‘Adare’ castle added a magical quality to the trip. The Year 3 camp at Victor Harbor proved to be more than just a school trip; it was a journey of growth, connection, and discovery.

Exploring Maths and Making Magic: Playful Learning in Action!

It was such a pleasure to welcome families to our Reception Mini Maths Morning on Friday. The girls were delighted to share the mathematical thinking and skills they’ve developed throughout the year.

Concepts are introduced through clear, explicit teaching and then extended through playful, guided inquiry experiences that help students deepen their understanding. Our maths program is play-based and designed to encourage curiosity, problem-solving, creativity and collaboration to build strong numeracy skills through meaningful, hands-on learning.  The sense of delight in learning was evident throughout the morning: in the way the girls explained their tasks, asked thoughtful questions, embraced challenges and proudly shared their discoveries with their families. Their confident, exploratory approach to maths reflects the wonderful growth they have made this year.

Tinkermas & Sleds: A Grinch-Inspired STEM Adventure!

We have been working with Mrs Coulter, the STEM Lead Learner, to engage with the STEM ‘Tinkermas’ Christmas program! We chose some exciting activities through the bespoke Saints Girls’ ‘Tinkermas’ catalogue for teacher-led and play based morning activities over the two weeks. On Thursday, Mrs Coulter’s Year 4 class came to help us with the ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ STEM challenge. The girls considered the original sled design that the Grinch created for Max, his dog, and identified a number of safety issues. They re-designed their own version using a specific list of resource items including two candy canes, Christmas ribbon and cardboard. Then they got to work building! The girls loved testing their sleds and were thrilled to take them home!
