As we approach the end of another vibrant school year, the Junior School is filled with the warmth, joy, and sense of togetherness that defines the Christmas season. This time invites us to celebrate and reflect on the values at the heart of our School community.
In 1870, Mother Emily Ayckbown founded the Community of the Sisters of the Church. Guided by compassion, courage, and a commitment to education and service, she led a group of women dedicated to improving the lives of children and families. Responding to an invitation from Bishop George Kennion, the Sisters travelled to Adelaide in 1892, and in 1894 they opened St Peter’s Girls’ School with just four students.
Though our School has grown and evolved, the values the Sisters lived by continue to shape our spirit today. This week, those values were evident in the way our girls approached their learning, supported one another, and embraced our recent end-of-year celebrations.
Step Up Day
Our students, joined by new girls commencing in 2026, stepped into their next year level with confidence and enthusiasm. They enjoyed an exciting morning with their 2026 teachers, engaging in activities that built connections and prepared them for the year ahead. We extend a warm welcome to the many new families joining us next year.
Year 6 Graduation
We proudly celebrated our Year 6 students and their achievements at Graduation. Their leadership and kindness have enriched our Junior School community, and we look forward to seeing them flourish in Middle School.
Reception Christmas Assembly
Our youngest learners delighted families with a joyful Christmas performance, capturing the wonder and excitement of the season. Their songs and storytelling created a heartwarming celebration for all who attended.
Junior School Chapel
The Junior School gathered in Chapel for a special Christmas service filled with carols, readings, and reflections. It was a meaningful occasion that brought us together in gratitude and joy, reminding us of the true spirit of Christmas.
Year 1 & 2 Nativity
The Nativity performance provided a touching and meaningful moment in our Christmas celebrations. Our Year 1 and 2 girls shared the Christmas story with enthusiasm and sparkle, honouring a much-loved Junior School tradition.
As we head into the final week of term, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all families for your support throughout the year. We also express deep gratitude to our dedicated staff, whose passion and commitment have made this year so special.
Warmest wishes for the holiday season. May all families enjoy a joyful and peaceful Christmas together. We look forward to welcoming all students back to school on Wednesday 28 January.
