Year 8 Explore Chinatown: Language Comes to Life!
On Friday of Week 3, the Year 8 Chinese students enjoyed a vibrant language and cultural excursion to Adelaide’s Chinatown. They took part in a range of engaging activities, putting their classroom learning into practice by ordering bubble tea in Chinese and taking part in a fun character-recognition scavenger hunt. Through their enthusiastic participation, students not only earned small prizes but also deepened their understanding of the language in a real-life context. The day was filled with laughter, learning, and exploration, offering a wonderful opportunity to experience Adelaide’s rich multicultural atmosphere.

Reflection, Perfection, Obsession

The Stage 1 Drama students, in collaboration with the Stage 1 Dance students, will be presenting Reflection, Perfection, Obsession – a re-imagining of the Brothers Grimm’s ‘Little Snow’. On Thursday evening of Week 5 (13 November) at 7pm, they will present their self-devised work on the Jeffreys Linn Arts Centre stage, a piece that they have developed, written, directed and choreographed themselves. We look forward to seeing you come and support the students who have all worked incredibly hard to produce their own original work for an audience.

Year 8 Arts Night Save the Date

On Thursday evening of Week 6 (20 November) at 7pm, our talented Year 8 students will set centre stage of the Jeffreys Linn Arts Centre on fire for their most anticipated Arts Production in the history of Arts here at Saints Girls, Snapshots. The story, which is set during a bustling school lunch, centres on a mysterious Conductor who freezes time to reveal a group of children’s future lives, showing how their innocent dreams twist, fade, or come true in unexpected ways. From pop stars to billionaires, bullies to inventors, Snapshots is a profound exploration of how childhood moments shape the adults we all become and a reminder that no one can truly predict where life will lead us. “Someone once said life is lottery.” This student-led production features our Year 8s imagination, leadership, and teamwork, where staff take a backseat and allow the students to really show off what they’ve learned about Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Arts this year. Save the date and stay tuned for more details!
