Year 7 Travel Expo
Thank you to everyone who came and participated in the Year 7 Travel Expo. The night was wonderful, and the travel packages were amazing. The Expo excited many for the upcoming holidays!
Parents were encouraged to buy two travel experiences after talking to all the travel companies. The most bought travel experience was Scenic Adventures from Faith Lawes, Ally Cheung, and Grace Lau. With Scenic Adventure, students designed three travel packages that would be accessible for a range of customers. Their travel agency, called Scenic Adventures, focused on Broome, WA because of the amazing views, food, and cultural experiences. Each of their travel packages included a wide range of ‘must-do’ activities such as pearl farming, camel rides, sunset cruises, and helicopter flights over the falls. Their packages also included flights, accommodation, cultural experiences, and dining. Throughout the unit, they learned about customers’ needs and wants, collaborating as a team and how to pitch their business to potential buyers. They really enjoyed creating these travel packages and loved sharing their knowledge of Broome with the parents at the Travel Expo.
The second most bought experience was NSCE Sichuan Jiuzhaigou from Nicole He, Sylvia Jia, Ellen Li, and Cindy Wang. NSCE designed travelling packages to explore the breath-taking landscapes of Jiuzhaigou, Sichuan. We crafted these packages specifically to be family friendly and valuing one’s individual hobbies. Clients purchasing their packages will journey through the spectacular valleys and flowing rivers. One of the highlights is tea. NSCE proudly carefully picks and handmakes its own tea. Jiuzhaigou’s tea is attentively picked with flowers for medicinal properties and dates for sweetness. Our motto is “Travelling hand in hand with locals.” This motto tells clients about what we stand for and our values. We confidently believe that our clients will remember our trip as a once in a lifetime experience. Be ready to be bathed in luxury while experiencing culture. Our values are bravery, inclusivity and seeing is believing. Be ready to explore the awe-inspiring experience of JiuZhaiGou.
All the students put significant effort into their travel companies and the experiences they offered. We applaud them all for outstanding work, commitment, planning, and pitching their travel packages.
Thank you everyone, and happy travels!

Year 7s Celebrate the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival
On Tuesday 16 September, our Year 7 Chinese and EAL/D students came together to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The students enjoyed a delicious lunch from Chef Dong’s Chinese restaurant, giving them the chance to not only share a meal but also explore the flavours and cultural traditions of Chinese cuisine.
After lunch, the celebration continued with traditional Chinese games such as jumping elastic bands (跳皮筋) and kicking the shuttlecock (踢毽子). Students also took part in an interactive Gimkit quiz to learn more about the history and customs of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
A special thank you to our English teacher, Emily Moxon, for sharing her journey of studying Chinese from her school years through to Year 12 and beyond.
It was a fun and engaging incursion that deepened students’ appreciation of Chinese culture while building community spirit.
