IGSSA Pink Round – Breast Cancer Awareness Week
We are proud to be joining other IGSSA Schools and taking part in IGSSA Pink Round, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Week. This will be taking place from 28 July to 3 August (Week 2). This important initiative raises awareness and much-needed funds for the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), which provides essential services and support to individuals and families affected by breast cancer across the country.
As part of our involvement:
- Our Sports Captains will be holding a Bake Sale on Friday 25 July (Week 1, Term 3)
- Girls and Staff will be provided with the opportunity to fill out an ‘I’m doing it for…’ card to put on our Appreciation Wall
- Girls and Staff will be provided with a Pink chest ribbon to wear throughout the week
- All Junior, Middle and Senior School students and staff involved in Winter Competition Sport will be provided with a pink hair ribbon to wear during their fixture/meet for that round
The week serves as a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to stand with others in times of need and reflects our school values of compassion, courage and creativity. Sport is a wonderful way to bring community together for a common cause and highlights attributes such as strength, unity and resilience, which can be applied not only on the sporting field but also during some of life’s battles.
Knockout Badminton
On the first day back at School, five of our girls participated in Open Knockout Badminton. Congratulations to Abbie An, Hailey Lee, Agnes Li, Olivia Ng and Caitlyn Sam-Ling, who won the opening round and have progressed through to the finals on August 8. The girls beat St Dominics 343 to 153, and then beat Kildare 336 to 136. Well done on such a great day, girls. We look forward to your success in the finals!

Badminton National Championships
Hailey Lee represented South Australia in the Yonex U15/U19 Australian National Championships in Launceston. The team achieved an impressive 4th place overall.
This was Hailey’s first year representing at the U15 level, she gained valuable experience and had the opportunity to play against some very strong interstate players in all her matches. She was able to reach the finals in the Girl’s Double Consolation individual game and the semi-finals in the Mixed Doubles Consolation individual game. Well done Hailey, congratulations on an amazing effort!
