Celebrating Excellence: Zoe and Ania Shine at the Oliphant Science Awards!

We’re thrilled to announce the outstanding achievement of two of our students, Zoe Curtis (Year 7) and Ania Choi (Year 8). The girls have achieved remarkable success at this year’s Oliphant Science Awards, a prestigious South Australian competition that celebrates student creativity, innovation, and scientific exploration across the state. The Oliphant Awards encouraged our students to dive deep into science’s wonders, showcasing our community’s incredible talent.

Zoe Curtis – Runner Up Young Scientist of the Year
Zoe’s passion for science and photography truly made waves! She earned two-second places in the Photography category—tying with herself—and a third place in Year 7/8 Scientific Inquiry, which also led to her being named Runner Up Young Scientist of the Year. Her skilful capture of scientific themes in her photography highlights her creativity and dedication to STEM.

Ania Choi – First Place in Programming, Apps, and Robotics
Ania’s achievements are equally impressive! She secured First Place in Programming, Apps, and Robotics for her innovative tech-based solution and received both the Flinders University Science Prize and the University of Adelaide Faculty of Science, Engineering, and Technology Sciences Prize for her outstanding contribution to community-focused scientific research. Ania’s work exemplifies the potential of technology to drive positive change.

Other Certificate Winners
We’re also proud to celebrate the achievements of Evie, Tiara, Sofia, and Alyssa, who received Highly Commended certificates for their outstanding entries. Each of these students showcased their dedication to science and creativity, contributing to our school’s strong presence at the competition.

Congratulations to all our participants! Zoe and Ania and our certificate winners set a fantastic example and inspire us all to reach higher. We can’t wait to see what they accomplish next!

Year 8 Production – Lost in Time

The Saints Girls’ community is invited to join us for the upcoming Year 8 Production Lost In Time, showcasing the students’ talents in Drama, Dance, Music and Visual Arts. Lost in Time follows Dr. Humperdink, her assistant Justine and her nieces on a chaotic time-travel adventure. Stranded across history – from the Stone Age to 1920s jazz clubs – they race to gather the missing machine parts and return to 2024. The Year 8 students have taken the lead in creating choreography, selecting the songs, directing scenes and coordinating the costumes and sets, making this event a true celebration of collaboration and creativity!  Admission is free – reserve your ticket here.
