A Standing Ovation at the Year 11 and 12 Drama Productions!

‘This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing‘ and ‘Josephine In-Between

Last week, the Year 12 SACE drama students performed ‘This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing’, written by Finegan Kruckemeyer. The play looks at the story of three triplet sisters, and their journey after being left alone in the woods by their father.

The Year 11 SACE and IB students performed ‘Josephine In-Between’, written by Michael Butler-Wills, which, as the name suggests, tells the story of Josephine who is in-between everything and everyone in her family and in her school. Both plays looked at the growth of each individual character and how they physically and mentally change over time due to their life experiences.

The Year 11 and 12 classes dedicated an incredible amount of hard work and time to bring each play to life. Whether it was memorising lines at home, rehearsing during lessons, or even doing some weekend rehearsals, each student committed themselves fully to the process. The experience of creating the plays was not only enjoyable but also educational, allowing us all to learn and grow as actors.

“The most memorable aspect of our performance was the production process itself, collaborating with the other students and director to produce a final piece that we could be proud of and enjoyed performing on stage. The process occasionally proved challenging due to the intensity of our rehearsal schedule and the period of when it was during Year 12, hence why as a class we feel incredibly accomplished with our final result.”
