The Emily Centre: Preparing to Start a New Chapter

As we move into the final stages of completing the Emily Centre, there is a growing sense of anticipation across the School. With internal building works nearing completion and furnishings and equipment arriving on site, our focus is shifting from construction to transition, preparing for this remarkable, state-of-the-art facility to become part of everyday School life.
We are pleased to share that the School is preparing for the Emily Centre to be operational from Tuesday, Week 1, Term 2. At this time, we will welcome classes from a range of disciplines and Sub Schools, including music, dance and drama. Surrounding fences will be removed, opening access to the lawns and outdoor areas, and allowing students and staff to fully experience this vibrant new space.
In the lead-up to opening, students across various year levels will have opportunities to visit the Emily Centre. These visits will help them become familiar with the spaces and begin to imagine the many ways they will be used for learning, creativity and connection.
Significant work is already underway behind the scenes to integrate the Emily Centre into daily School life. Timetabling has commenced to support a seamless transition, with a focus on strengthening specialist areas, relocating classes into purpose-built environments, and fostering a diverse faculty presence throughout the Centre. This considered approach will ensure the building is not only functional but truly reflective of our holistic approach to education. More than just a new building, the Emily Centre will be a dynamic, lived-in space that brings our values of courage, creativity and compassion to life each day.
We look forward to sharing more in the coming weeks as we prepare to open the Emily Centre. Stay tuned. In the meantime, explore the ‘fly-through’ video below for a preview of this exciting new space.
