Car Parking Information
Dear Families,
As we excitedly commence Term 1, we’d like to take this opportunity to share some information provided by the Burnside Council regarding car parking at St Peter’s Girls’ School.
As in previous years, the Ranger Services Department will be conducting regular patrols on a rotating roster to support the safety of students, parents, and staff within the school precinct.
We would like to remind parents and caregivers of the correct use of No Parking (Kiss and Drop) zones, as these areas commonly cause confusion. These zones are designed for quick drop‑off and pick‑up only. Drivers may stop to allow passengers to exit or enter the vehicle but must remain within three metres of the vehicle and depart promptly to allow others to do the same. If a parent or caregiver needs to walk their child into the school, they must not park or leave their vehicle in this zone.
If you have any questions, please contact the School on 8334 2200.
Queensland Fruit Fly Update
Families may be aware that a Queensland Fruit Fly (QFF) outbreak has recently been declared in Elizabeth East, with PIRSA implementing movement controls across parts of metropolitan Adelaide.
St Peter’s Girls’ School is located in Stonyfell, which is classified as a Yellow Zone. This means there are some restrictions on the movement of certain fruit and vegetables, but everyday activities can continue as normal when guidelines are followed.
We would like to reassure families that appropriate measures are in place across the School:
- Produce from the ELC Community Garden is fully cooked and consumed onsite, and no garden produce is taken home.
- The Tuck Shop sources all fruit and vegetables from external commercial suppliers, with no produce grown onsite.
Families are encouraged to remain mindful of restrictions when transporting home-grown fruit and vegetables. For information on whether your suburb is affected and what you can and can’t move, please refer to the PIRSA Queensland Fruit Fly information link provided below.
We will continue to monitor updates and share any further information as required.
