Saints Girls Graduates Recognised in 2026 SACE Art Show
The SACE Board has recently announced that the works of 142 students have been selected for inclusion in the 2026 SACE Art Show. Among these are two outstanding pieces by St Peter’s Girls’ School 2025 graduates, Lucy Mitchell and Niki Zheng, an impressive achievement that reflects the quality of creative practice fostered within the School’s Visual Arts program.
This prestigious annual exhibition celebrates exemplary student work across a wide range of disciplines, including painting, drawing, sculpture, costume design and multimedia. The selected artworks showcase the technical skill, creativity and conceptual thinking of students who completed SACE Art, Visual Arts and Design in 2025.
Lucy Mitchell’s design piece, Home of Oyster, presents an interior and concept board for a small seafood restaurant situated along the beachfront of Kangaroo Island. Her work demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of spatial design, material selection and branding, brought together through an organic and minimalist aesthetic that responds thoughtfully to its coastal context.
Niki Zheng’s watercolour painting, Identity through Nature, is a meticulously rendered, botanically inspired work that explores themes of identity and connection to the natural world. Through careful observation, delicate technique and layered detail, the piece reflects both technical excellence and personal expression.
School groups and members of the public are invited to attend the exhibition, which will be held at Light Square Gallery, Adelaide College of the Arts. The SACE Art Show provides a valuable opportunity to engage with the exceptional creative achievements of South Australian students, celebrating emerging talent in the visual arts.
